Salary: $85,000 - $115,000
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with existing clients and forging new ones in order to exceed their expectations. You will manage the relationship throughout the assignment and ensure proactive and professional communication with key stakeholders. As a key member of the management team, you will contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team by collaborating with your peers, seeking feedback and demonstrating a positive attitude and approach to your work. You will be committed to continuous learning, self-development and development of others.
Your work will include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients including taking responsibility for the client relationship and the quality and timely client deliverables
- Review engagements, compilations, tax returns (corporate, personal, trusts, partnerships, etc.), and other tax compliance matters (PST, GST, etc.)
- Client communication (planning, status update and completion)
- Scheduling of appropriate staff, supervision and coaching of staff
- Identification and ensure appropriate resolution of issues (accounting and tax)
- Reviewing working papers and coaching staff to complete working paper files
- Year-end planning for corporate groups and their individual shareholders
- Liaising with CRA to assist clients with inquiries
- Co-ordination and collaboration with other specialists to assist clients as needed
- Monitor and manage engagement economics
- Staff development, mentoring and feedback
- General business advice as necessary
- Contributing to the management and operations of the MySolutions practice
- Participating in business development activities
Requirements:
- Accounting diploma or degree from a College or University
- CPA Designation
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Strong technical knowledge: accounting (ASPE), review engagement standards, and corporate and personal income tax compliance
- Organizational skills including ability to prioritize, multi-task, delegate, adapt to facilitate timely client service delivery and meet deadlines
- Teamwork, coaching and feedback
- General business knowledge necessary to effectively service clients
- Between five to ten years’ experience in providing these types of services to these types of clients
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of work
- Ability to manage client deliverables (financial statements and tax returns)
- Computer software knowledge and experience (Excel, Word, Caseware, Tax Prep, Quickbooks,)
- Proactive and takes ownership for self-development
- Can work independently and critically think through and resolve issues
- Team player
