We currently have a fantastic opportunity with a leading midsize firm in their US Tax team for a Manager/Senior Manager to focus on Individual Taxes. If you are looking to grow your career to a Partnership opportunity, this is the firm for you.
Performance Expectations
- Manage US and combined US-Canadian individual income and estate tax return preparation for:
- US citizens living in Canada, particularly entrepreneurs
- US residents working in Canada
- Canadians working and investing in the US
- Involved in engagement planning, budgeting, coordination of the compliance process and the collection of data, billing and building direct client relationships
- Maintain responsibility for the supervision of a team of preparers
- Cross-border income tax and estate planning
- Communicate with clients to facilitate return preparation
- Manage workflow between the local team and the team overseas
- Oversee and direct flow of information
- Review preparers’ work completed for accuracy
- Instruct and guide junior/intermediate preparers
Credentials
- Chartered Accountant designation (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other professional accounting designation with experience will be considered
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a U.S. Tax Consulting role
- Knowledge and experience working in both Canadian and U.S. Tax individual tax compliance and planning
- Public Practice work experience
- Proven track record in building client relationships
- Experience in effectively managing and leading teams
- Comfortable with tax research methods and databases
